July 22, 2010
Update
 
Dear Friends,
 
Being a Biblically functioning community of Christ, filled with love and joy, seeking lost people and serving a suffering world requires us to build the community of Christ to reach the community for Christ. We build God’s people to reach lost people. We are currently working on plans to do both those things.
 
The recent move and the departure of some on our management team has delayed some of the strategic planning we try to do each spring.  Our Church Council, Joel Smith, Brian Lewis and I, have approved a plan to have several in our church work on a strategic plan this summer for CrossBridge.  Peter, Christopher, and I are part of this team so that the insights from our staff are represented.  Tom Heiss who was nominated for elder at our congregational meeting last year and who assists with the prayer team is on this team.  Rick Plympton, our Missions Team leader, and Jeff Brown both have skills in strategic planning honed in the marketplace and have agreed to work on this team.  Alex Horvath, long-time member and leader at CrossBridge, is also on this team.
 
We will be putting together a proposal to address needs of our congregation and best utilize our resources to fulfill our mission at CrossBridge.  We will be making plans regarding our programs, staff, facilities, and leadership.  The proposal will be presented to the Management Team for approval. If you have comments, questions or suggestions please make them known to any of us.
 
 
PRAYER
 
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, Romans 5:1 (NIV)
 
By faith in Christ we can be declared “not guilty” (justified) by the just and righteous God. By faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Is anything more important in time or eternity than faith?
 
Take a moment and pray that God would grow the faith of all who come into contact with CrossBridge whether they are seasoned members or new Christ seekers.

The rest of July and August goes as such: Meet this Sunday, July 25, 7:30 pm at Pete and Jenna’s home…..have your children wear mosquito repellant! Linked will meet on August 1st, 15th, and 22nd…..not on August 8th or 29th.

SECRETARY OUT OF TOWN
 
            Paige will be out of town visiting family July 27 – August 3. Brian and Pete will be holding down the fort!

WOMEN’S SUMMER BIBLE STUDY
Thursdays, 10:30 – Noon; July 8 – August 12
 
Ever wonder what characteristics make the women of the Bible so remarkable? Ever wish you had some of those characteristics in your own life? Well then, come join us this summer for a six-week study, beginning July 8, for a glimpse into the lives of just a few of the many women God chose to include in His Word.
 
We will meet at the home of Kim Silva, Thursday mornings 10:30 – Noon, July 8 - August 12. Childcare is available, so bring your kids!   Any questions, feel free to contact Jean Heiss.
