I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:17-19 (NIV)

How on earth does someone know something that surpasses knowledge?  And, even if one knows it, how can it be communicated?  How can it be put into words?  How can it be described or transmitted?

I have no idea, but I know that God has been working in my life to help me know this love that surpasses knowledge.  Although I can’t describe it, I know it’s real and I know it’s wider, longer, higher and deeper than I ever imagined. 

It is changing me.  This love that goes beyond knowing is changing the way I view, treat and respond to those who love me.  I’m praying that it will change the way I view, treat and respond to those from whom I have experienced resentment, hurt, lies, evil, greed, etc. 

I’m also praying with some urgency that you, and we, would have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ…  We won’t be able to explain it, but we will know when we have it because we will be moving to where we are filled to the measure with all the fullness of God.  If we are filled to the measure with the fullness of God because we know this love then all who enter the doors of CrossBridge will know this love.  Is there anything else that matters more than that?
